Eligibility
Public housing is limited to low-income families and individuals. Eligibility is based on annual gross income, your qualification as elderly, a person with a disability, or as a family, and U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status. If you are eligible, UCHA will do background checks and past rental history to make sure each family will be good tenants. An applicant can be denied if habits and prior practices show a possible detrimental effect on other tenants or UCHA property.
UCHA uses income limits developed by HUD. HUD sets income limits for each county or metropolitan area, which causes income limits to vary in different areas.
